Honoring Beverly
Goldsmith - Mills
About Our Logo
Why the pink ribbon as part of our logo? It is to honor the company owner’s sister who died from breast cancer in 2003. SOLD by the GOLD was comprised of two sisters for five years, Beth Goldsmith and Beverly Goldsmith-Mills. Together they proved to be a dynamic duo in Ft. Wayne real estate setting new sales records. Beth needed to honor her sister’s legacy and commemorate her many gifts, not only to the business and her family, but to the greater Ft. Wayne community. The new logo incorporating a pink ribbon was developed. Beth was able to show Bev the new logo design just two days before her death and reveal the plan to honor their time as business partners. For every closed transaction, Sold by the Gold commits $100 to breast cancer research at Indiana University School of Medicine, the premiere breast cancer research group in the country.
Beth is humbled and proud at the same time to report annual contributions since Bev’s death. In addition to the gifts listed annually from Sold by the Gold, numerous friends have also contributed in her honor each year.

Breast cancer has affected the last four generations of women in my family. I lost my sister and best friend to the disease. My mother and aunt join me as breast cancer survivors. It is for these brave women in my family that I participated in Race Across America. I also rode to give my nieces and other young women hope that breast cancer will soon be cured.

RAAM - Race Across America
Survive 2 Thrive was our theme as Team Vera Bradley raced 3021 miles from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland June 20th - June 27th, 2009. The Race Across America is known as the world's toughest bike race. Visit the official RAAM site to learn more.
The over 3,000 mile race started in Oceanside, California, and ended in Annapolis, Maryland. Raising funds for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer was the focus. Goldsmith along with Lisa Friedman, another breast cancer survivor, and six men came together to form the eight-person Team Vera Bradley. The goal was to race across the country in six days relay style non-stop.
